Splash, Hike, Ride and Swim Through Oregon with Outdoor Pursuits
Into the next month and beyond, there are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved with Pacific University through the exploration of the outdoors! Splash, hike, ride, or swim your way through spring semester! Grab a friend and sign up for one of the upcoming spring trips, or perhaps you'd like to view a brief overview of all the trips currently running for Spring 2021.
If you are sick and tired of the cold, wet winter, why not plan ahead and look forward to the Spring Break Whitewater Rafting Trip? Join OP for a week out on the whitewater. This multi-day adventure starts at Outdoor Pursuits at the Milky Way and participants will travel to the beautiful Deschutes River in Central Oregon! This trip is an overnight adventure starting Friday, March 19 at Outdoor Pursuits through Wednesday, March 24 on the Deschutes. Whether you're battling rapids or enjoying a delicious dinner in camp, you're guaranteed some great memories and some beautiful scenery. Qualified instructors educate the proper techniques and knowledge to efficiently paddle and raft in whitewater rapids. This trip is full of wonderful whitewater and sun is bound to be the perfect way to spend your spring break. Register for this one-of-a-kind experience!
For students preferring to stay a bit closer to campus, join Outdoor Pursuits on Saturday, April 3 for a hiking day trip in the Tillamook Forest. This hike is dependent on both the OP staff and the group of participants, as all experience levels are welcome and encouraged. Register to experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with Pacific students and staff!
Do you enjoy splashing through whitewater rapids during springtime in Oregon? Come raft the North Santiam rapids with Outdoor Pursuits on Saturday, April 17, on the whitewater rafting day trip! This trip departs from the Milky Way at 8 a.m., and includes transportation to and from the rafting site.
Just a short drive away from Portland and Forest Grove lies the beautiful water at Sauvie Island, where Outdoor Pursuits will be taking students stand-up paddle boarding for the SUP Day Trip on Sunday, April 18. Don't worry if you have never set foot on a SUP before as this trip is great for all experience levels, including beginners. Register to ensure your spot and guarantee a place in this fun-filled, water-splashing day!
Catch some waves with Outdoor Pursuits. Join the All-Day Surfing Trip at the Oregon Coast on Saturday, April 24. This adventure will take you from campus to Oswald West State Park, where you will be sure to catch some rays, hang ten, and boogie on over the waves. Surfers of any experience level are welcome; OP staff will help guide you through the trip, whether it's your first time on a board or the hundredth. Register for your own spot, or bring a friend.
And if none of these options appeal to you, you can create an individualized experience on Sunday, April 25, with a Build-Your-Own-Day-Trip, offered only by Outdoor Pursuits. With custom trips, you get to decide what you're doing and where you're going. This is the perfect opportunity to spend the day outside your way with the support and instruction of the amazing Outdoor Pursuits staff. Don't be shy if it's something you have never tried before, as your instructors will provide all the gear and direction you need.
