Drop-In Sessions at the Student Counseling Center
The Student Counseling Center is excited to announce the continuation of weekly virtual drop-in sessions for Mindfulness and BIPOC Let’s Talk during the spring semester. Drop in once or weekly. We hope to see you!
Mindfulness Drop-In
These 50-minute drop-in workshops are intended to create a space for students to slow down and pause. SCC staff will lead a mindfulness meditation, engage in conversation about how to develop a consistent mindfulness practice, and share wisdom from each other’s perspectives. To learn more about mindfulness practices, view the SCC Mindful Coping Practice Series.
Offered each Thursday at 4 p.m. PST, starting on Jan. 28 and continuing throughout the spring semester. Pre-registration is not required, but students need to enter their PUNet ID to access the zoom link on the SCC website. Please note that these drop-in workshops are not a substitute for counseling and do not constitute mental health treatment. All Pacific University students are welcome.
BIPOC Let’s Talk
BIPOC Let’s Talk holds dedicated space for undergraduate and graduate students at Pacific who self-identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous & people of color), including biracial and multiracial individuals. This program is not intended for white-identified allies.
BIPOC Let’s Talk provides easy access and informal drop-in consultations with BIPOC Student Counseling Center counselors. Students can explore resources and options, gain perspectives, build community connection, and build mentorship support. Students can also learn more about navigating higher education settings or discuss how therapy might be beneficial. Please note that BIPOC Let’s Talk is not a substitute for counseling and does not constitute mental health treatment.
BIPOC Let's Talk is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is necessary, so students can just drop-in during the scheduled times: Mondays 1 to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays noon to 1 p.m., starting Wednesday, Jan. 20, and continuing throughout the spring semester.
Visit the SCC website to access the secure zoom link (you will be required to enter your PUNet ID).
