Our preceptors are what make us great and we are so proud of the work they do. Our preceptors are teachers, mentors, and trusted partners in the learning experience who help students develop into pharmacy practitioners who are innovative, caring, compassionate, and patient centered. As a group of educators our preceptors are the educational touch point for 40% of our curriculum. Thank you for your commitment to teaching the next generation of pharmacists!

Award Winning Preceptors
Each year we celebrate our preceptors and their lasting impact on our students at our Graduation Awards and Recognition Ceremony. Here is our list of awardees since 2009.
Current Preceptors
Those currently precepting PUSOP students have accounts in our rotation management system, CORE ELMS. Multiple resources are linked on the CORE ELMS preceptor home page for our preceptors, this includes our Student and Preceptor Experiential Manual, Syllabi, Videos regarding required assignments, frequently asked questions document, free CE and more! CORE-ELMS is where we collect availability, set schedules, and evaluate students.
PUSOP is part of the Northwest Pharmacy Experiential Consortia (NWPEC), made up of seven colleges and schools of pharmacy within our Northwest region, which works together to address opportunities and challenges for experiential education and our partners. The NWPEC works together annually to coordinate APPE rotation block dates when possible.
The Office of Experiential Education reaches out to our preceptors and rotation site partners annually between August and November to collect site placement availability for the coming rotation year. This is a lengthy process and we appreciate your patience. Student schedules are then released to sites no later than mid February prior to rotation start in May.
Preceptor Development
PUSOP is very grateful for the time and commitment of our preceptors in offering experiences to pharmacy students. We are committed to providing resources for development of our preceptors both on a large scale and also based on requests from our preceptors and site partners.

C'Rel McAllister Whatley, PharmD I am an experienced pharmacist deeply committed to community service, starting my career as a pharmacy technician at the University of Oregon Student Health Center in 2001. After graduating from Oregon State University College of Pharmacy in 2009, I dedicated the last 20 years to Walgreens/WBA, progressing through various leadership roles. Currently, I serve as the Healthcare Supervisor for Oregon, where I prioritize the recruitment and development of pharmacy and healthcare talent, ensuring a strong pipeline of future leaders. My adaptable leadership style fosters trust and engagement within teams while leveraging my clinical and regulatory knowledge to enhance patient outcomes. Additionally, I focus on cultivating partnerships to improve service delivery and maintain operational excellence within pharmacy initiatives. Previously, as District Manager for Portland West, I ensured exceptional customer service and collaborated with store and pharmacy managers to strengthen local healthcare partnerships. In my role as Store Manager, I emphasized patient safety and compliance while devising strategies to boost customer traffic and profitability. Throughout my career, I have held significant positions, including Pharmacy Manager at two Walgreens locations, where I successfully established community partnerships for immunization outreach and enhanced pharmacy efficiency. I also served as the Frontier Lead for Leadership Development, supporting field teams in change management and improving operational accountability.
