Senior Kaylee Kimura Named Outstanding Senior in Dance 2020
Kaylee Kimura '20 has been named Pacific University's 2020 Outstanding Senior in Dance.
Kaylee has been a part of Pacific's pre-professional dance company for four years. During this time, she has been selected by guest artists and faculty as a featured dancer and soloist in their works. She has proven herself to be a dedicated, driven, and hardworking student who has grown to be an accomplished dancer who moves with athleticism and grace.
You cannot miss Kaylee dancing in performance; she fills the stage with beautiful lines, which comes from her years of classical ballet training. Faculty look to Kaylee to demonstrate and act as a teaching assistant in the classroom and rehearsals because of her clarity and understanding of movement in the dance aesthetic.
Kaylee applies feedback with a professional attitude and positivity, always developing and refining her technique and artistry year after year. She is recognized by her peers in the program as a mentor and leader and constantly brings a sense of humor into company rehearsals. She also asks thoughtful questions in the creative process that help maintain accuracy and clarity for all involved.
It has been a tremendous privilege to watch Kaylee grow into an accomplished dancer. We look forward to hearing about all her accomplishments in the future.
