Helping Others During the Time of COVID-19
Even though most of us are sheltering in place, there still are ways to serve other people. And there's no better time to do it than now. It'll do them good, and it will do you good.

Practice physical distancing
When outside of your home, stay at least six feet away from others, and if possible, wear a mask covering your mouth and nose. This can minimize your likelihood of contracting COVID-19/Coronavirus or spreading it if you have it and are asymptomatic. If you are sick, follow strict self-quarantine guidelines.
Check on neighbors
You can still assist neighbors in need when practicing physical distancing. Leave notes in mailboxes or make a quick call to see if your neighborhood friends may need help running errands or would like to chat over the phone or via teleconference while in isolation.
Support vulnerable community members
If you are not in a high risk COVID-19/Coronavirus group, check in with family, friends, and loved ones who may be in the high risk category. Consider doing drop offs or assisting them. Also, keep in mind that this situation creates greater extreme environments for homeless community members and those targeted with suspicion or hostility due to race.
Donate time or money to a cause
Check in with favorite nonprofits or organizations about volunteer or donation options.
Support small businesses
Many small businesses were forced to close or limit hours. Consider purchasing from online stores or gaining gift certificates.
