In Memoriam: Louise Schouten

Louise Schouten, former Pacific University employee and wife of alumni Warren Schouten '63, OD '64, died on Dec. 26, 2019. While her husband was pursuing his degree at Pacific, Louise worked in the optometry department. 

Schouten was an avid music lover, teacher and percussionist throughout her life. She taught music lessons from 1966 to 2018. Schouten also served in the Young Women’s Organization for over 30 years.

Schouten is preceded in death by an infant daughter; husband, Warren; sister, Leta; and brother, John Gerrit. Louise is survived by two children, Dr. James Schouten and Patty Murphy; eight grand children; one brother, Jim Ekker; and many neices, nephews and close friends.
