Earn Your MSW at Pacific University
Pacific University’s Claire Argow Social Work program offers a BSW and MSW accredited by the Counsel on Social Work Education (CSWE). The BSW and Advanced Standing MSW program is offered at our Forest Grove Campus. The 2-year and Advanced Standing MSW program is offered at our Eugene Campus.
Our campus locations offer opportunities to learn and practice social work in a rural or urban setting. Pacific’s social work program is known for its individualized instruction and face-to-face mentoring from professors. We have a low student to faculty ratio and focus on building a cohort of students prepared to become leaders in practice, policy, and research.
“The Master's program really helped me find my identity, it made me grow in ways I never really thought possible...”
– Daisy Rizo '17, MSW '18
Students in Pacific’s Social Work program will experience teaching and learning in a close, nurturing environment. Professors create exceptional opportunities for professional growth and work with students to foster inter professional relationships at both the bachelor and master’s level. Our faculty come from a wide variety of professional and academic backgrounds with a range of expertise in areas such as; homeless and runaway youth, suicide, gerontology, LGBTQ youth, medical social work, psychotherapy, international social work, and indigenous communities.
It takes more than a good heart and a desire to help. To make a positive, lasting impact, a social worker must possess knowledge, values, skills and competencies. At Pacific University, we provide our students with the tools they will need to become professional social workers. Together, we will work towards creating a better world.
Students Have Two Pathways to Admission

Pacific’s MSW programs offer an advanced practice degree based on the purpose of the social work profession — to promote human and community wellbeing. Practical field education is designed to promote the application of social work values and ethics, theory, and skills to practice. The professor to student ratio at Pacific allows for individualized instruction and mentoring and both locations provide opportunities to explore social work practice in both rural and urban settings.
The MSW program is accredited (2017–2021) by the Council on Social Work Education. Pacific's Master of Social Work is part of the Claire Argow Social Work Program, along with the Bachelor of Social Work.
