Andrew Dawes and Elizabeth Tavares to Participate in Fresh Eyes
Physics Professor Andrew Dawes and Assistant Professor of English Elizabeth Tavares will be taking part in Fresh Eyes, an interesting system that brings regular people into the theater rehearsal process. On chosen plays, writers from different backgrounds are invited to join for a few rehearsals and the first reading of the script, and then they share their observations on the blog for the Fresh Eyes program.
Dr. Dawes sat in on the reading of the play La Ruta, a play based on real life accounts of the unsolved mystery of women in Juárez, Mexico who disappear on their bus route to work. Dr. Tavares was the observer for The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart. Inspired by ballads from the Scotland Borders, this play is the account of Prudencia's dream-like journey of self-discovery.
