Pacific Student Leads Teatro Milagro’s Production of Judge Torres
Join us for Teatro Milagro’s Touring Production of Judge Torres featuring Pacific University student Élle Muñoz Robles. The play is followed by a talk-back discussion with the cast and director, which Pacific University Assistant Professor of English, Elizabeth Tavares facilitates.
The play, based on the true story of Multnomah County Circuit Judge Xiomara Torres, is a tale of of loss and abuse, and ultimately, of triumph against all odds. Élle Muñoz Robles, the lead actress and a first-generation student, says she relates to the character's struggles and perseverance, "I overcame many barriers to attain a college education. Judge Torres will hopefully bring awareness and appreciation towards the Latinx and immigrant experience."
Tickets for Judge Torres are $10 for the general public and free for students, faculty and staff.
The Nov. 7 performance is a joint venture between Pacific University’s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Bag&Baggage Productions.
