In Memory: Robert George Davidson '59
Robert George Davidson '59 passed away peacefully at home in Prescott, Ariz., on April 28, 2019.
He was born in Loma Linda, Calif., in 1935, grew up in Alhambra, Calif., and graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove in 1959. He continued his education at Claremont School of Theology, where he earned a master's degree in Theology. He was ordained in the Congregational Church which later became the United Church of Christ. He served UCC churches in Riverside, CA, Wellesley, MA, Appleton, WI and Lakewood, OH.
He decided to leave the ministry and become a book publisher, forming Educational Ministries Inc. (now EMI PrintWorks), which published Christian education materials for mainline Protestant churches for 35 years. He also published two monthly publications, Church Educator and Church Worship for many years.
He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Linda, his two children Mark Davidson and Cheryl Uresti, and his granddaughter Ava Uresti. He will be remembered for his love of cooking and his famous Chinese dinners.
