In Memory: Marvin West ’58, OD ’59
Marvin West ’58, OD ’59 died Mar. 16, 2019, at age 88. He joined the U.S. Navy after high school and was stationed in Guam. He met his future wife, Elma, while they were both in boot camp. They married in 1954 and raised three children together. After receiving his doctor of optometry from Pacific, he practiced in Oak Harbor, Wash., until he established his own practice in Arlington, Wash., where he stayed until his retirement in 1994. He was an avid bowler and played for a local senior league. His smile, wit, and sense of humor will be missed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Elma. He is survived by his three children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
