Dr. Nee Publishes Textbook Chapter on Clinical Reasoning for Lateral Elbow Pain

Dr. Nee and colleagues published a textbook chapter titled “Lateral elbow pain with cervical and nerve-related components” in the newly available second edition of Clinical Reasoning in Musculoskeletal Practice.  As stated in the introduction, the intent of this textbook is to help clinicians improve their “Clinical reasoning and decision-making by learning from the reasoning of some of the most acclaimed clinicians in the world and by ensuring knowledge supporting their reasoning is comprehensive and contemporary.”  Dr. Nee is recognized for his work on neurodynamics and has published extensively on this topic and has presented his work in peer-reviewed conferences both nationally and internationally. 

In this chapter the authors first take the reader through an initial examination and a physical examination.  Then, after each section of the examination, a series of thought-provoking Reasoning Questions are asked, followed by evidence-informed Answers to Reasoning Questions and Clinical Reasoning Commentary.  The chapter continues by describing each treatment session, which is also followed by a series of Reasoning Questions and evidence-informed Answers and Commentary.  Using this strategy, clinicians have the opportunity to learn how the authors incorporate evidence into their clinical reasoning and decision-making when treating lateral elbow pain.
