In Memory: Neil Cawood '61

Neil Cawood ’61 died July 25, 2018, at age 80. He served in the U.S. Army for a number of years before attending Pacific where he received a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He loved sports and was an avid athlete throughout high school and college. He covered all of the major Oregon sports during his 40-year career, much of it for the (Eugene, Ore.) Register-Guard, including beat writing and traveling with the 1977 world champion Portland Trail Blazers. He enjoyed tending to his property on the McKenzie River, hosting many friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Liz; children, Matthew (and Cindy), Timothy (and Val), and Nathan (and Katie); and three grandchildren.
