It's Lu'au Week at Pacific University

Lu'au Week is here!

Our 58th annual Lu'au, presented by Nā Haumāna O Hawai‘i, takes place on Saturday, April 14, and this year's theme is Nā Hali'a Aloha (“Good Times Together”).

This year’s lu’au will be Aunty Edna Gehring's 36th and final one as advisor of NHOH (our Hawai'i Club), and she will be honored for more than 35 years of outstanding service and mentorship to students, faculty and staff alike.

As in past years, the lu’au is once again sold out. To help alleviate wait times in line on Saturday, we strongly encourage those of you who have purchased tickets to pick them up in advance during a convenient will call opportunity in the University Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Additionally, the Lu’au Country Store will operate in the Stoller Center lobby during the day of the show, and Pacific community members also get special shopping hours from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday. The store features specialties flown in from the Islands, such as fresh pineapples, cookies, chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, leis, jams and jellies, and other treats.

For those who were unable to purchase a ticket to the Lu'au, NHOH is allowing the public to attend its Friday night rehearsal show in the Stoller Center. Admission is $25 for all ages, and cash is the only form of payment accepted. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The 58th annual Lu'au begins at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the University Center with a dinner of authentic Hawai'ian-style cuisine. The Lu‘au dinner also serves as the evening meal for students with meal plans.

The spectacular show featuring a variety of dances and other spectacles begins at 6 p.m. in Stoller Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
