Dr. Evan Liu '12, PT '15 Travels to Nicaragua for Physical Therapy Service Trip
Dr. Evan Liu '12, PT '15 recently returned from a physical therapy service trip in Granada, Nicaragua. He served as a mentor for DPT students from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he finished his orthopedic physical therapy residency in 2017. In Granada, he assisted the students with patient care in homes, local communities, and a nursing home.
“This was an amazing experience and it helped rekindle my passion for what I do. I was thrilled that my treatment group had a decent amount of pediatric cases. Pediatrics has always been a large passion of mine and is something I will continue to revisit for the rest of my career. This was a truly humbling experience and hope to participate in these opportunities consistently in the future.”
Dr. Liu is an adjunct faculty member in the Pacific University physical therapy program. This spring he serves as a lab assistant for Human Anatomy II and Principles of Therapeutic Exercise, and as a tutor for Clinical Biomechanics II. He also provides physical therapy services at Pacific Physical Therapy Clinic and Tuality Community Hospital.
