In the News: Alumnus Jarman '92 Accepts New Position
Pacific University alumnus James Jarman '92 was recently appointed to the position of director of marketing and public relations for Mohave Community College (MCC), in Kingman, Ariz.
Jarman recently sat with Havasu News to discuss the journey to his new position, which started with his communications/journalism major at Pacific University and included 25 years in broadcast news.
Throughout his career, Jarman has won more than three dozen awards in excellence, including the National Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative journalism.
Although Jarman is sad to be leaving the field he loves, he is also excited for the new landscape and experience that the MCC position offers to him.
“In journalism, we want all the information out there. In marketing we still want to get everything out there, but we want to highlight certain things about our company. In this case it’s the college. The college has some great, positive stories and while I am here we’re going to highlight these stories," Jarman told the Havasu News. "Essentially I’ve become another kind of storyteller on all of the great things happening here.”
