Graduate and Professional Scholarships & Grants

Limited institutional grants may be available to students who enroll in Pacific’s graduate and professional programs. Generally, these grants are awarded for the student’s first year only and are not renewable. Grant amounts vary. Eligibility is determined from the information provided in the application for admission.

Alumni Association Legacy Endowed Scholarship

The Pacific University Alumni Association Legacy Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to students who are children or grandchildren of Pacific alumni and are or will be attending Pacific University as a sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate or a student in one of Pacific's graduate programs.

Boxer ‘Ohana Scholarship

The Boxer 'Ohana Scholarship is for the benefit of Pacific University students with academic promise and demonstrated financial need who are from the state of Hawai'i. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students with junior standing and a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or full-time graduate students with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or equivalent. Deadline to apply is March 1.

Arthur E. Schauermann Memorial Scholarship

The Arthur E. Schauermann Memorial Scholarship is a non-renewable award given annually to graduates of Forest Grove High School who will attend Pacific University as undergraduate or graduate/professional students. Prospective and current Pacific University students are eligible to apply. Deadline to apply is March 1.

The Pacific University Veteran's Endowed Scholarship provides support for veterans who are in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need. Deadline to apply is March 1.

Berglund Center Inspired Ideas Competition

The Inspired Ideas Competition is designed for students of all majors/minors and rank (including graduate), to share their innovative ideas with a panel of judges and the public, for a chance of winning thousands of dollars in scholarships, professional and technical support and a chance at turning the idea into an actual prototype (product or service) during one academic year.

Henry Kaulia Endowed Scholarship

The Henry Kaulia Endowed Scholarship provides financial support to a student with an interest in becoming an educator who is from the state of Hawaii, or who has one or more parents or grandparents from Hawaii.  An educator can be any major or minor and examples include teachers, coaches, and athletic trainers.  One $1000 award is available to a junior, a senior and an undergraduate alumnus of Pacific who is enrolled in a Pacific graduate program. Deadline to apply is March 1.

Henry Kaulia Endowed Scholarship Application

Veterans Administration Yellow Ribbon Program

Funds awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, and in some cases to dependents of those veterans, who receive full Chapter 33 benefits. Award amounts are typically equal to 50 percent of the difference between the tuition assistance that Chapter 33 provides and the student’s tuition. Institutional gift aid, including scholarships and grants, are part of Pacific's Yellow Ribbon contribution. The Veterans Administration provides matching funds equal to the remaining 50 percent.

College of Arts & Sciences

Each year Pacific offers partial scholarships to selected students entering the Master of Fine Arts in Writing program. All scholarships are based on the quality of the creative manuscript and supporting application materials and are awarded at the time of acceptance. No additional application is required. These include a limited number of MFA Merit Scholarships, including the Pearl Scholarship, which is awarded to an exceptional student in any genre; the Washburn MFA Scholarship, named in honor of beloved longtime Program Director Shelley Washburn, which affirms and encourages talented writers entering the program; the Kwame Dawes Mapmakers Scholarship, which is awarded to exceptional students of color; the Katherine Dunn Scholarship, supporting women writers with financial need entering the MFA program; and the Marvin Bell Endowed Scholarship, awarded to poets of remarkable promise.

College of Business

The College of Business at Pacific University is pleased to offer a series of scholarships for admitted MBA applicants. All scholarships are finalized by the College of Business Admissions office. Any scholarship questions may be directed to business@pacificu.edu. Students may apply for only one scholarship (in addition to the Early Enrollment scholarship). All scholarships are awarded over the entire course of the students MBA program (i.e. over multiple terms).

College of Education

Pacific Robert Noyce Scholarship Program

Pacific Robert Noyce Scholarships are available to exemplary science and math teaching candidates whose background, skills, and future career goals demonstrate the ability to meet the challenges of teaching science and math in high needs classrooms and schools.

Two groups of students are eligible to become Pacific Robert Noyce Scholars:

  1. Undergraduate Track applicants are Pacific University undergraduate students who will be seniors in a STEM major (School of Natural Science), and wish to complete their teaching preparation in the Pacific Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program after graduation.
  2. Career Change Track applicants hold bachelor or higher degrees in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology or a related discipline, and wish to enroll in the Pacific University Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program.

Dean's Scholarship

The Dean's Scholarship is available to a full-time MAT fifth-year students. Applicants are evaluated on academic ability, financial need, and teaching potential. Special consideration is given to those pursuing certification in high-need areas such as mathematics and science and to bilingual candidates. Approximately 30 scholarships are awarded annually between the Forest Grove and Eugene campuses. Scholarship awards average $2,000.

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grants

TEACH Grants are funded by the federal government and are available to degree-seeking students who are planning to become “highly qualified” teachers in a federally defined high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves low-income students. Recipients must submit a FAFSA and maintain a 3.25 or higher cumulative grade point average. Awards range up to $3,728 per year. Students who do not complete the required years of teaching service will be required to repay the grant as though it had been a federal loan that began accruing interest at disbursement. TEACH Grants are not initially awarded by the Financial Aid Office; students interested in the TEACH Grant program should contact the Pacific University Financial Aid Office.

School of Dental Hygiene Studies

Director’s Scholarship | The Director’s Scholarship is awarded to selected applicants admitted to the School of Dental Hygiene Studies. No application is required; selection is competitive and eligibility is based on the information submitted with the student’s application for admission.

Boxer Loyalty Scholarship | The Boxer Loyalty Scholarship is awarded to selected Pacific University College of Arts & Sciences students who are accepted and enroll in the School of Dental Hygiene Studies. Scholarships are $10,000 annually. No application is required; eligibility is based on the information submitted with the student’s application for admission.

School of Graduate Psychology

PsyD Diversity Scholarships | Diversity Scholarships are awarded to graduate students in the School of Graduate Psychology PsyD program who are dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Recipients must be committed to working with and advocating for underserved populations.

Scholarships are awarded at the time students are accepted into the program and require completion of an essay that is submitted with the admissions application. Recipients are encouraged to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within SGP through classroom discussion, advocacy efforts, and diversity groups. Recipients often participate in community and scholarly diversity activities, workshops, training programs, and conferences.

Li Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund | The Li Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2017 to honor members of the Li family, The fund is an expression of two core values of the Li family: education and opportunity. It commemorates the struggles and triumphs of individuals who have immigrated to the United States in search of an education as a pathway to opportunity.

The Silvia Genel Fund | The Silvia Genel Fund was established in memory of Silvia Genel, a former School of Graduate Psychology student, clinical psychologist, and leader in the Latino community. This fund is maintained through the generous contributions of many donors including SGP faculty, staff, alumni, board members, and Pacific community members. The mission is to promote and encourage SGP students to engage in activities which will directly or indirectly benefit the Latino community.

Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) Professional Student Exchange Program (PSEP)

Funds awarded to eligible students in occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physician assistant students, and physical therapy. Students must apply to the appropriate state certifying officer by Oct. 15 of the year preceding the student’s enrollment. Award amounts, service requirements, and state participation vary. Information about this program is available on the WICHE website.
