Andy Weyer DPT, PhD, Joins School of Physical Therapy Faculty
Andy grew up in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisc., and comes to Pacific University following completion of his DPT degree at Marquette University in 2010 and PhD at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2015. At MCW, Andy’s dissertation work focused on the basic mechanisms of pain sensation in the peripheral nervous system. While completing his PhD, Andy served as the primary physical therapist at the Bread of Healing Clinic in Milwaukee for patients lacking health insurance. Clinically, Andy is very interested in identifying effective physical therapy treatment strategies for patients suffering from chronic pain.
Andy is extremely excited to join the faculty in the School of Physical Therapy. He will be teaching Rehabilitation Neuroscience I and II, and will be co-teaching Patient Assessment, Intervention, and Therapeutic Modalities with Dr. Erin Jobst. Outside of work, he enjoys running, hiking, and competitive eating.
