Role of the IBC

Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs) are the cornerstone of institutional oversight of recombinant DNA research. The Pacific University IRB also oversees research with pathogens. The IRB is established under the NIH Guidelines specifically for the review of research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules.
