Jo Isgrigg to Lead Office of Scholarships and Sponsored Projects
Pacific University has named Jo Isgrigg, PhD, as the inaugural director of its new Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects.
"Dr. Isgrigg brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with educators, researchers and funding agencies to support creative work, and we will benefit enormously from her guidance," said Ann Barr-Gillespie, vice provost and executive dean of the university's College of Health Professions. Barr-Gillespie also serves as the interim vice provost for research at Pacific.
During the 2014-15 academic year, Barr-Gillespie convened a group of faculty and staff from across the university to assist in redeveloping the future of the Pacific University's research initiatives. As a result, the university's Office of Research reorganized into the Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects to provide expanded mentorship and services to assist and support university faculty and students.
Isgrigg is currently the executive director of the Oregon Healthcare Workforce Institute, a non-profit, public-private partnership using research, data analytics, and collective impact approaches to engage leaders from industry, education, workforce development, and government in developing solutions to Oregon’s healthcare workforce needs.
“I’m honored to have been selected and very excited for this new opportunity," Isgrigg said. "I am very impressed by the collaborative research endeavors between faculty members and students at Pacific, and look forward to helping identify and secure resources for future research opportunities to advance the university’s commitment to scholarship at the highest level.”
Her career spans a number of leadership positions in both the public and private sectors, in which her research has focused on issues pertaining to the healthcare workforce, health systems organizations and public policy.
Isgrigg possesses a doctorate in public administration and policy from Portland State University, and has served as an adjunct faculty member within PSU's public health, public administration and gerontology programs. She begins her appointment at Pacific on Jan. 15, 2016.
