Karen Diaz-Carmona ’21 Loves Telling Stories
Karen Diaz-Carmona ’21 was hired by the Newberg (Ore.) Public Library as Latinx Resource Historian shortly before she began the undergraduate teaching program at Pacific’s Woodburn Campus.
With the arrival of the pandemic, she has taken her storytelling sessions online. They are visible at the City of Newberg’s Newberg Public Library channel on YouTube. “I tend to select traditional folk songs and rhymes that Latinx families identity with,” she says. ■
