The Pacific University Symphonic Band’s fall concert will take place in McCready Hall at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3. The performance will feature the exciting conducting debuts of four music education majors – Jakob Anderson, Sanne Cai, Lucia Flores, and Jonathan New.
The program will open with Alfred Reed’s Alleluia, Laudamus Te and will continue with In Dreams by Japanese-Canadian composer Cait Nishimura, Chase the Shouting Wind by Vince Gassi and Larry Clark's Enduring Traveler (Poor Wayfaring Stranger).
Also on the program, the famous Waltz No. 2 by Dmitri Shostakovich and On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss by David Holsinger. The program will conclude with Michael Burch-Pesses conducting Robert Buckley’s challenging composition for band Symphony No. 1, Portraits of the North.
