A new study raises awareness about the need for better prenatal healthcare and supports for women with disabilities. This research, from a Pacific University faculty member and an undergraduate student, looked at social media as a source of social support for pregnant women with disabilities.
Robert J. Fadhl '61, OD '62 peacefully passed away on July 22, 2019 in Surprise, AZ. Fadhl was 80.  Fadhl worked in an optical lab before receiving his doctorate of optometry from Pacific University in 1962. After graduating, he served in the Army Corps for 20 years. 
Gamma check
Members of the Gamma Sigma fraternity convened at the alumni office during Homecoming 2019 to leave a legacy in the form of a mattress-sized check for $25,000.
Sway
Artist and former wildland firefighter Kate Lund explores our orientation to the natural environment with a series of drawings that will be on display at the Kathrin Cawein Gallery at Pacific University from Nov. 4 through Nov. 22. An opening reception at the gallery, which is located in Scott Hall, 2043 College Way in Forest Grove, is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m.
LCC and Pacific officials sign partnership agreement

In Memory: Marcia Braudt '65 and Frank Braudt '64 both passed away due to complications after a car accident. They were married in Sunnyville, Calif., and moved back to Canyonville, Ore. in 1964 where they became active members of the community. 
William Scott Poxon
In Memory: William Scott Poxon '83 passed away on Aug. 30, 2019 at the age of 61. He was prided on providing excellent optometric care and making himself available both day and night for his patients.
