Pete Truax ’83, mayor of Forest Grove and long-time city councilman, received an honor from the Oregon League of Cities at its 97th annual conference in Bend, Ore. 
Pacific alumni from the Class of 1981 to the Class of 1989 gathered at the home of JoJo (Worden) Brunelle ’85 and John Brunelle ’83 in Boise, Idaho for a reunion in August.
Craig Bowen ’83, OD ’86 was elected board secretary-treasurer for the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association at its annual meeting in July.
Laurel Morse '83 accepted the position of chief financial officer at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, West Consolidated Patient Account Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
Frank Giardina '83, OD '86 is the optometric director and residency director of Community Health Centers of the Central Coast in Nipomo, Calif.
Frank Giardina '83, OD '86 has received certification in Medical Optometry.

Larry and Kathy met in 1977 as freshmen at Pacific University. They had several core classes together, and would often spend time with a group of mutual friends. During their sophomore year, Larry asked Kathy to study for a library skills test that was part of their writing course. They didn’t end up studying at all that evening but that night they began their decades-long relationship. 
Frank Giardina ’83, OD ’86 is the program director of Community Health Centers of the Central Coast.
Curtis Baxstrom ’83, OD ’84 received the 2018 G.N. Getman Award by the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
Hannu Laukkanen ’83, OD ’84, MED ’94 joined the advisory board of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association in October.
