Three Pacific Students with Thank You Signs
The results are in: Boxer Giving Day was a huge success!
This past spring break, a group of 13 AMIGOS traveled back to Belize to visit the communities of Corozal and San Narciso to provide eye care for those under-served areas. During our four clinic days, we saw 470 patients, spanning from 3- to 80-year-olds, non-verbal children, diabetics, motor-vehicle accident patients and many more.
This winter break, a group of seven students and one optometrist travelled back to Senegal to see around 400 patients in four days of clinic. This was the second trip to the Saint-Louis area, which includes the village of Rao working with the Yoonu Njub Organization.
Our first three days of clinic were in Zidong’s village health center. For our final day of clinic, we had screenings at a local county hospital. The hospital serves over 130,000 patients with only one ophthalmologist to meet the ocular health needs of that region.
