Dr. Lena Cavusoglu of the College of Business was awarded the Best Consumer Culture Theory Competitive Paper Runner-Up Award at the 2024 ACR Asia-Pacific Conference in Bali, Indonesia. Her paper, co-authored with Professor Russell Belk, titled "Reclaiming Identity in the Face of Stigma," explores how individuals with facial differences reclaim their identities by rejecting cosmetics, surgeries, and prosthetics. This research significantly contributes to Consumer Culture Theory (CCT) and highlights COB's role in global academic excellence.
Join an online training session to learn more about Pacific's shared governance system. Drop-in yoga is back! Join us on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Warner Hall Dance studio, beginning Sept. 5. No prior registration is required, but all class participants will sign in upon arrival. Classes are open to all Pacific students and employees.
The former College of Arts & Sciences dean began serving as interim vice president of enrollment management in 2020, and in 2022, that role expanded to include leading student affairs. “Dr. Phillips has been instrumental in identifying ways to increase student access to the Pacific experience and in growing our support systems for Pacific students both throughout and in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said President Jenny Coyle. “As we embark on our new strategic plan for the future of Pacific University, her creativity and leadership will be at the heart of ensuring that our students thrive.”
