Even with a variety of day trips offered throughout the semester, spaces are filling up fast for many upcoming trips! Make sure to view the Outdoor Pursuits Calendar to stay up-to-date on current happenings, and reserve your space as early as possible. Already, we've had great turnout for some of our past trips this month, including the Surf Series 2021, Women of Color Beach Day, and Queer SUP Day at Hagg Lake.
Though it may feel early in the semester, it's never too early to start thinking about potential opportunities for Fall Break. This year, Outdoor Pursuits is excited to offer two excursions for the weekend of Oct. 8-10, a whitewater rafting trip and a backpacking trip!
On the whitewater rafting trip, join Outdoor Pursuits instructors for a weekend out on the water. Whether you're battling rapids on the Deschutes River or enjoying a delicious dinner at the campsite, you're guaranteed a great time and beautiful scenery. Transportation and gear is provided, and qualified staff members will give you the tools to ride your way through beautiful waves. Join the waitlist for a fun weekend of water, sun, and waves on Oct. 8-10.
If water sports don't quite appeal to you, don't fret! Maybe the Fall Break Backpacking Trip is right up your alley, featuring the greenery of the Pacific Northwest, breathtaking views, and new experiences with awesome people. Join Pacific students and Outdoor Pursuits staff during the weekend of Oct. 8-10 in the rugged and beautiful Mt. Theilsen wilderness near Mt. Bailey. Food, transportation and gear are included for this weekend-long adventure. Sign up today to save your space on this exciting adventure, as only a few spots are left!
Are you looking to hone in on your kayaking skills? Join Outdoor Pursuits Staff at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center for an evening skill session at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15 or 8:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, and hop in whitewater kayaks during the Kayaking Pool Session to practice your rolls and other skills. Kayaks will be provided for registered participants, and you can spend the evening perfecting your kayak roll or other skills in a controlled environment. This event is for both the beginning and experienced kayaker. Register for these evening events on Friday, Oct. 15, Friday, Oct. 22, or both.
Is climbing boulders outside not your thing? Join Outdoor Pursuits for a night of indoor adventuring instead. On Wednesday, Oct. 20th, head to an indoor rock climbing gym gym in Portland for an Indoor Rock Climbing Trip. This indoor excursion will certainly be warmer and dryer, plus just as much fun, as a day out on the rocks! Grab a friend and reserve your space soon.
