Welcome New Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Please join me in welcoming Jennifer Yruegas '96 as our new director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs. 

For the past 18 years, Jennifer has successfully managed human resources and legal affairs across multiple sectors in Oregon. Most recently, she served as corporate secretary/general counsel/VP of HR at Viewpoint, Inc. in Portland. Her other roles include general counsel at Keen Footwear, assistant general counsel to Nike, Inc. and Affiliates, and chief legal officer and head of HR at InFocus Corporation.

She holds a juris doctor from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, where she has also served as an adjunct professor of both International Intellectual Property Law and Business Principles. Before attending law school, she received her bachelor of science from Pacific University, where she double-majored in biology and literature.

“The opportunity to serve my alma mater and join a community that I deeply respect is something that is very important to me,” Jennifer said, adding that returning to Pacific University means coming back home.

As director of our offices of Human Resources and Legal Affairs, Jennifer hopes to foster an open and transparent workplace, enhance recruitment, and empower employees. She will be a key member of our community and looks forward to working with each of you throughout your time here at Pacific. 

Jennifer will begin her new role here at Pacific on Tuesday, Sept. 19. Please join me in welcoming her back to Pacific.
