Welcome Jeff Kawaguchi, PT, PhD, ATC
Jeff graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor of science in biology in 1987. He then received a bachelor of science in physical therapy from Northwestern University in 1988. This was followed a master of education with an emphasis in exercise physiology in 2002, and a PhD in Sports Medicine in 2003, both from the University of Virginia. Dr. Kawaguchi was the Program Director for the Athletic Training Program at Eastern Washington University until 2014. He came to Pacific University in the Fall of 2014 as the Assistant Program Director for the Athletic Training Program.
Dr. Kawaguchi has presented on a number of sports medicine related topics at the national level for the NATA, the APTA and AAPHERD. Clinically Dr. Kawaguchi has served on the medical staff for both the University of Virginia and Eastern Washington University. He also has been a part of the medical staff for a number of US Figure Skating National Championships and for USA Basketball. His research interests are in the area of gait analysis, education and Women’s Athletics.
