Valerie Lauver '21: Outstanding Senior in Biology; College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Academic Achievement Award
Valerie Lauver ’21 is Pacific University’s 2021 Outstanding Senior in Biology and recipient of the College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Academic Achievement Award.
Lauver “obtained a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a biology major and environmental science minor, all while working two jobs,” said professors who nominated Lauver for the outstanding senior award. “She was a valuable contributor to the Biology Department through her outstanding work as a teaching assistant and tutor for Intro Bio courses. She brought an unparalleled enthusiasm to the classes she took and taught and inspired many underclass students with her passion.”
Lauver, who earned her bachelor’s degree in May 2021, was also a peer tutor in mathematics and biology. Her parents live in Grass Valley, Calif.
Fellow graduate Audrey Lincoln ’21 also earned the Dean’s Academic Achievement Award.
