University Policy and Oregon Measure 91

With the passing of Ballot Measure 91, we want to remind community members of Pacific University’s position on marijuana. Our drug policy is clear that the use of illegal substances and the misuse of legal substances are strictly prohibited.

Marijuana remains illegal under federal law, which Pacific University must uphold in order to maintain eligibility for federal funding and financial aid programs for our students. Regardless of its status in the State of Oregon, or whether or not an individual possesses a prescription for medical use, possession and use of marijuana will continue to be against Pacific University policy when this law goes into effect on July 1, 2015.

This applies to all students, employees and visitors of Pacific University. All students have been notified of this policy by email and that message is available online as well.
