Students Volunteer at Special Olympics Event

On March 2nd, a group of 17 first year PT students volunteered with AT students, PA students, and AT program alumni at a Special Olympics Oregon (SOOR) Unified Champion Schools (UCS) High School Basketball North Regional Tournament. There were 300 kids playing in the tournament which took place at Wilsonville High School, Meridian Park Middle School, and Boones Ferry Primary School. Our students volunteered as event medical staff, where they attended to any injuries that occurred and kept the game environment safe. The volunteers loved getting to interact with and watch these kids excel at their sport. PT students also enjoyed getting to meet and volunteer alongside students from other health professions.
