Ski the Slopes with Outdoor Pursuits

Outdoor Pursuits is thrilled to welcome students back for Spring 2022! With a full roster of activities, ranging from skiing and indoor climbing to basic first aid and indoor kayaking, OP staff is excited to encourage and nurture Pacific students' love of adventuring outdoors. View the website or the Outdoor Pursuits Calendar for the most up-to-date information.

Do you enjoy scaling high objects and testing your physical limits? Then an indoor climbing trip may be for you! Join OP on Thursday, Feb. 10, or Thursday, Feb. 24, and climb to new heights at Planet Granite in Portland or The Circuit in Tigard.

Are you looking to hone your kayaking skills? Hop in whitewater kayaks during this indoor kayaking pool session at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, to practice your rolls and other skills! Kayaks are provided for registered participants, and you can spend the evening perfecting your kayak roll and other skills in a controlled environment. This event is for both the beginning and experienced kayaker. Register now to reserve a spot!

If you're interested in whitewater sports and/or looking to update your outdoor leadership resume, consider participating in the swiftwater rescue certification course. This certification features a mixture of classroom sessions and hands-on intensive course material out on the water that teaches valuable skills for whitewater rescue and safety. Register to learn how to address dangerous situations in a swiftwater environment. The first classroom session takes place on Thursday, Feb. 17, and extends into the weekend. Learn more about the topics covered and dates here.

Explore snow-covered trails and make some winter memories, all while strapped snuggly into a pair of skis. Glide through the snow on Oregon's beautiful Mt. Hood on Saturday, Feb. 19, for a cross-country ski trip! Register today to reserve a spot.
