Sept. 17: Know Your Rights - From the Ballot Box to the Classroom
Your rights matter! And you should know what they are, how to exercise them, and what to do if they are violated. Look for the UC table takeover from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17 to:
- Learn about your rights as a student e.g. Can my school discipline me for participating in a walkout? Can I wear tribal regalia to my graduation? What do I do if I'm confronted by police on campus?
- Learn about recent updates to Pacific's Undergraduate Student Senate & how they will impact your student experience
- Connect with the Pacific Votes Student Ambassadors to ensure you're ready for November's election and enter your name into our Pacific Votes Pledge drawing
- Chat with Washington County Elections about short-term job opportunities to help make sure our local election is accessible and secure
- Meet with representatives of the City of Forest Grove to share your opinion on how FG should grow into the future
Constitution Day and National Voter Registration Day both take place on Tuesday, September 17 - giving us an opportunity to share the many rights guaranteed by our Constitution and the opportunities afforded by the upcoming election to "vote your values".
