School of Pharmacy Hires Three New Assistant Deans
The School of Pharmacy is honored to announce that three internal faculty members have been hired to fill the administrative positions; Assistant Dean for Student Affairs (ADSA), Assistant Dean for Pharmacy Practice (ADPP), and Assistant Dean for Pharmaceutical Sciences (ADPS). After completing a national search and conducting several interviews, Dr. Jeremy Hughes (ADSA), Dr. Ian Doyle (ADPP) and Dr. Sigrid Roberts (ADPS) were selected as top candidates. All three newly appointed candidates will join Dr. David Fuentes, Assistant Dean for Academics and Assessment, and work under the guidance of Dean Karimi. The completion of the administrative team will be in effect as of July 1, 2015.
Jeremy Hughes, PharmD, joined the School of Pharmacy in 2012. Dr. Hughes has been an essential component of the experiential team serving as the Coordinator of Experiential Advancement and Director of Experiential Education. His previous experience working with students, faculty, and preceptors have prepared him for the responsibilities of the ADSA.
Ian Doyle, PharmD, joined the School of Pharmacy in 2010. Dr. Doyle has many years of experience leading numerous curriculum and assessment projects, serving on the University Faculty Senate and at Oregon Society of Health-System Pharmacists (OSHP). The combination of Dr. Doyle’s leadership work and faculty experiences will be invaluable as he mentors and assists the Pharmacy Practice faculty in achieving their goals.
Sigrid Roberts, PhD, joined the School of Pharmacy in 2007 as the rank of Assistant Professor and in 2013 was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure. Dr. Roberts assumed the role of interim ADPS in February 2015 and has proved to be an integral part of the administrative team. Her leadership roles at the School, University, and national levels coupled with her diligent efforts to advocate for faculty and staff will serve Dr. Roberts well as she works to mentor the Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty.
