School of Audiology Welcomes New Faculty
Dr. Victoria Keetay, director of the School of Audiology, is pleased to announce the arrival of faculty for the first year of the doctor of audiology (Au.D.) degree program.
James A. Baer, AuD, assistant professor and director of academic education, School of Audiology
Jim received a bachelor of science in speech & hearing sciences from State University of New York College at Cortland in 2000 and completed a doctor of audiology degree from the University of Louisville in 2006. Jim joins Pacific from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. His areas of specialty include adult audiologic diagnostics, auditory brainstem response diagnostics, amplification and adult audiologic rehabilitation, with a particular interest and expertise in vestibular diagnostics.
Shilpi Banerjee, PhD, associate professor and director of clinical education, School of Audiology
Shilpi earned a bachelor of science in audiology & speech therapy from Bombay University, India, in 1992. She went on to receive a master of arts in audiology & hearing sciences from Northwestern University in 1994 and a doctor of philosophy in communication sciences & disorders from Northwestern University in 2003. Shilpi joins Pacific from Starkey Hearing Technologies in Eden Prairie, Minn. Her areas of specialty include hearing aid dispensing and adult audiologic diagnostics and rehabilitation, with clinical and research interests in amplification technologies.
David K. Brown, PhD, associate professor, School of Audiology
David completed a bachelor of arts in speech pathology & audiology from Western Washington University in 1981, a master of arts in audiology from Western Washington University in 1984, and then went on to earn his doctor of philosophy in auditory neuroscience from University of Calgary in 1996. David joins Pacific from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio. His areas of specialty include auditory brainstem response diagnostics, newborn hearing screening and pediatric audiologic diagnostics, with a strong research interest in simulation technology.
