Scholarships Help Katie Lightcap '18 Pursue her Dreams
Boxers know first-hand what it means to be a leader. From faculty collaboration on senior projects and research, to volunteer work in the community, to participating in one of the many varsity and junior varsity sports, all Pacific graduates are leaders. It’s part of our identity, and it’s what separates us from the rest. This fall we are asking our Boxers to continue to lead on – for current and future student success.
Students like Katie Lightcap ’18 have relied on donor support in order to continue her Pacific education. “I came into Pacific with six community scholarships that I had applied for my senior year of high school,” says Katie. “I competed in the Pacesetters competition to win a little bit of scholarship money before my freshman year here, and then I have applied for the Eva C. Krebs Boxer Spirit Award every year.”
With hopes of going on to a physician assistant graduate program, Katie has taken advantage of every opportunity during her Pacific experience. Serving in several leadership roles, Katie is eager to finish out her Pacific career as the current Student Body President. “The most exciting part about being the Undergraduate Student Senate President this year for me is the opportunity to make connections ... [the two former presidents] helped establish campus unity, and I hope to be able to make those connections and tie those knots a little tighter.”
Today, we ask you to lead on with a gift to the Pacific Excellence Fund to support students like Katie. Your leadership, at any level, will inspire this and future generations of Boxers to continue making a difference in our communities and world. But, it starts with you, and your support.
