Rev. Dr. Chuck Currie '91 is 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient
Reverend Dr. Chuck Currie '91 is the Chicago Theological Seminary's 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. Currie received the award via Zoom on June 3.
At Pacific University, Dr. Currie serves as the director for the Center of Peace and Spirituality, university chaplain and assistant professor of religious studies. Before he earned his MDiv, Dr. Currie spent 17 years working on issues related to homelessness and housing. As a UCC minister, he has worked tirelessly to build interfaith coalitions to address national issues like healthcare, gun violence, climate change and immigration reform.
Dr. Currie lives in Northeast Portland with his wife, Liz Smith Currie, their twin daughters and their pets.
