Reuniting at Homecoming
For Alexandra Allen and Anne (Kabarsepp) Kask, this weekend has been a true reunion.
Though the women graduated from Pacific University in 1964, they lost touch.
Kask, however, has been helping plan their 50th reunion.
“I saw her name on the list, called her and said, ‘Come up!’” Kask said.
Kask drove down from her home in Sequim, Wash., for this week’s Homecoming festivities, and she picked up Allen, who now lives in Sonoma, Calif., from the airport.
As members of the 50th reunion class, the women shared in a reunion luncheon on Friday, were inducted into the Golden Guard, and signed their names in the memorial sidewalk outside of Old College Hall.
Allen rediscovered the 1962 yearbook, for which she designed the cover.
And they’ve had the chance to reconnect with even more classmates and friends.
More than 200 Pacific University alumni are on campus this weekend for Homecoming.
Throughout the weekend, they will celebrate additional class reunions, share in an all-alumni barbecue, and spend time tailgating and cheering on the Boxers as they face Whitworth on the gridiron.
Mostly, though, they’ll spend their time reconnecting, as Allen and Kask have, and remembering why it’s great to be a Badger or Boxer.
