Provide Initial Input to the Freedom of Expression Taskforce
The Freedom of Expression taskforce would like to get your input on a brief questionnaire intended to get a pulse from students and employees of the values and priorities that should be reflected as a guiding principle for the entire university community in a new statement on freedom of expression. The taskforce was established by the University Council to lead a university-wide discussion that is scholarly, inclusive and highly engaged.
As a first step, we have a few questions intended to get a sense of the University community's values and priorities for what a statement might include.
For reference, you can view the current handbook on freedom of expression. The taskforce is using this as a starting point for developing the definitions and principles for our draft statement, but we intend that our statement will supersede this handbook once approved via shared governance and University administration.
The survey will be open indefinitely, but to ensure that your response is incorporated in the earliest drafts, please respond by Monday, May 15.
