Professor Tzurei Chen and Students Present at 9th World Congress of Biomechanics
Faculty, students and alumni from the Pacific University School of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training gave two presentations at the 9th World Congress of Biomechanics in Taipei, Taiwan, in July 2022.
Dr. Tzurei Chen (on right), third-year physical therapy student Madelyn Foulk ’23, and alumni Sara Tomlinson PT ’22 and Sydney Neumann PT ’22 presented two research projects:
- “Turn Characteristics During the Turning Phase of the Timed Up and Go Test for Older Adults With and Without Fall Histories.” Podium Presentation. Alumni Morgan Aase PT ’22, Alyssa Louwagie PT ’22 and Anna Volk PT ’22 also contributed to this project.
- “Effect of Age and Fall Histories on Center of Mass Control During the Turning Phase of the Timed Up and Go Test.” Poster Presentation.
The World Congress of Biomechanics is one of the largest international conferences that has shown record-breaking attendance from scientists across the globe.
