In-Person Instruction Resumes Monday; We Continue to Monitor Air Quality

Student with maskDear Pacific University community:

We recognize that this has been a difficult weekend, as we remain confined because of the heavy smoke from the region’s wildfires, and by efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19. We are encouraged by the continually improving outlook for air quality, and will begin to return to in-person instruction Monday.

On the Forest Grove and the Hillsboro campuses, classes, labs and clinics will operate on their usual schedules.  We ask you to minimize your time outdoors to essential trips through Tuesday, Sept. 15th.

In Eugene and Woodburn, follow instructions from your program.

The Stoller Center also will reopen for workouts. The Athletics Department will monitor air quality to make decisions about outdoor practices this week.

We are continuing to closely monitor conditions and expect to provide an update Tuesday afternoon.

Again, we ask that each member of our community take health and safety into primary consideration. If you have health conditions that prevent you from being able to attend scheduled activities, please work directly with your department or program.
