Patricia Runkles-Pearson '98 Appointed to Task Force

Patricia Runkles-Pearson '98, a Portland lawyer, was appointed to Oregon Gov. Kate Brown’s task force for law enforcement training and de-escalation practices. The task force will review the best practices and data that govern standards for law enforcement training, certification and decertification processes. Based on this research, Runkles-Pearson and the rest of the task force will provide recommendations for improving training for Oregon law enforcement officers. One of the reasons she was chosen for her expertise in helping progressive organizations prioritize equity and inclusion while minimizing legal risk.
