Pacific University Well-Represented Among Speakers at 2023 APTA Oregon Conference
Faculty and students from the School of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training will be sharing their expertise at the 2023 American Physical Therapy Association's Oregon Conference. The annual chapter meeting is scheduled in March at Providence St. Vincent.
Tabitha Galindo DPT '19, is an associate professor who teaches rehabilitation neuroscience. She will be presenting "Updates in Vestibular Rehabilitation Practice," a session reviewing foundational vestibular knowledge and summarizing current, evidence-based updates to vestibular practice. Her course material is focused on practical application of diagnostic and prescriptive principles of vestibular rehabilitation for common conditions.
Dr. Evan Liu '12, DPT' 15, is the director of Pacific's Residency Partnerships and an associate professor. He will be presenting "The Not-So-New, Missing Links in ACL-R and Return to Sport Considerations," a session discussing clinically useful and effective assessments and interventions and why integrating multi-system approaches including the psychological, psychosocial and environmental factors, beyond just addressing the musculoskeletal issues, are imperative in successful ACL-R rehabilitation.
Student Kirsten Londeree '24 will be presenting "Mental Health and Management in the Physical Therapy Community," a session by and for students discussing strategies to manage burnout and stress among individuals in the physical therapy community and the impact mental health has on people's ability to participate as a student, professor or clinician.
