Pacific University Recognized for Excellence by National Media

Pacific University has once again been recognized for its quality as an institution of higher education by Washington Monthly, US News & World Report and Forbes.

Washington Monthly has ranked Pacific 15th nationally out of 671 institutions in the master's universities category, as classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

"We rate schools based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs), and Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country)," Washington Monthly editors stated.

US News has Pacific tied for 25th in the "Regional Universities West Region" category, comprised of "institutions that provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master programs, and few, if any, doctoral programs." Regional universities are ranked by geographical quadrant (North, South, East, West), and the publication selected a total of 120 institutions within the West.

Pacific is once again one of America's Top Colleges, according to Forbes, a listing that includes only 20 percent of the nation's undergraduate institutions. Of the 650 schools Forbes selected, Pacific is ranked 276.

Additionally, The Princeton Review has again named Pacific a Best Western College. The university is among just 124 institutions from 15 western states, including California and Texas, to be listed by the publication.
