Pacific University Hosts 61st Annual Lū‘au and Hō‘ike

The Pacific University Nā Haumāna O Hawai‘i Students of Hawai‘I Club is pleased to present the return of the annual Lū‘au and Hō‘ike!

Tickets are now available for the 61st annual Lū‘au and Hō‘ike on April 9, 2022, on the Pacific University Forest Grove Campus. Festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. with an authentic Lū‘au meal featuring traditional staples such as pig, chicken long rice, teriyaki chicken, poi, haupia, coconut cake and punch. A spectacular show of traditional Polynesian dance, music and other entertainment follows at 6:30 p.m.

Led by Pacific University students, this year’s theme is Nā Mele Ho‘oheno o Ke Aloha,” which translates to “The Cherished Love Songs.”

Limited tickets are available to the public and are now available online. Guests may choose to attend the dinner and show or show only with prices ranging from $30 to $41, depending on seating. Discounts are available for senior citizens and children.

Any proceeds from the Lū‘au and Hō‘ike benefit Nā Haumāna O Hawai‘i. Founded in 1959, the Students of Hawai‘i club provides support, peer mentorship, and social activities for Pacific’s large population of students from Hawai‘i and also promotes the Aloha Spirit on Pacific’s Oregon campuses.

Pacific University is a private university serving nearly 4,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students with academic programs in the arts and sciences, business, education, health professions and optometry. Nearly 20 percent of undergraduate students studying in Forest Grove, Ore., come to Pacific from Hawai‘i.
