Pacific Students Collaborate with Portland Art Museum
Pacific University students studying Spanish and Latinx Studies recently collaborated with the Portland Art Museum on its exhibition, “Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Mexican Modernism.”
Under the direction of Professor Ximena Keogh Serrano, students produced videos introducing the concepts and themes of the exhibit at the museum. Those videos, many produced in Spanish, are available on the Portland Art Museum’s website.
The exhibit, which is on display through June 5, 2022, offers an exploration of the avante-garde cultural movement in Mexico in the early 20th century. Video topics include an overview of Mexican Modernism, analyses of individual paintings, and the legacy of Kahlo.
