Ollie Kurk '22 Earns Dean's Academic Achievement Award

Ollie Kurk '22 was named the winner of the Dean's Academic Achievement Award at Pacific University's 2022 Undergraduate Student Awards. The honor might be considered the equivalent of a salutatorian in high school.

Her nominators wrote: "Ollie Kurk is an exceptional thinker and writer who distinguished herself early on at Pacific University. A creative writing major and an art & design minor, Ollie is comfortable writing in multiple genres, including literary criticism. In all of her classes, Ollie is dedicated to her craft, and her creative work is a testament to her efforts. Her senior capstone project, a novel excerpt titled, Wolf's Bane: An Exploration of Siblinghood and Human Nature, is a witty and darkly humorous dive into family dynamics and rivalry. She was also the recipient of the Irving Story Scholarship Award for Excellence in English."
