COVID-19 Information

Outdoor Pursuits will be offering outdoor equipment rental services and day trips to Pacific students, and non-students this spring. We ask that you review the other information, including the updated rental reservations, pick up, and return procedures, prior to making a reservation.

Nourish the Earth, Soul and Body with Outdoor Pursuits

Join Outdoor Pursuits and a small but mighty group of volunteers for a trash cleanup at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 25. Volunteers will be driving just a short distance from campus to the arboretum in the Tillamook State Forest. This is a part of the Tom McCall Center for Civic Engagement's Earth Day celebrations. Be sure to join the fun and help out the community. Register to reserve your space.

Before the semester wraps up, why not register for a fun-filled day on the water with a few close friends? Hit the water on Sunday, April 18 at Sauvie Island for an afternoon of stand-up paddleboarding and escape for a day. Don't worry if you have never set foot on a SUP before, this trip is great for all experience levels, even beginners. Only a few spots are left, so register soon. If you prefer the crashing ocean waves, dive into a day of surf, salt, and seriously rad people on April 24 for a surfing daytrip at Oswald West State Park. Whether you're testing the water for the first time or are ready to hang ten from the get-go, register to ensure your part in an awesome weekend!

Interested in creating your own unique outdoor experience? On April 25, you get to decide what you're doing and where you're going on a build your own daytrip. This is the perfect opportunity to spend the day your way outside with the support and instruction of the amazing Outdoor Pursuits staff. Don't be shy if it's something you have never tried before, instructors will provide all the gear and direction you need. Check out the Trip Descriptions page for more information on potential trips, or contact the Outdoor Pursuits Office in the Milky Way. 

Calling all women and female identifying individuals! Grab a paddle, a PFD (personal flotation device) and get ready for some serious fun on Saturday, May 1 for our all women sea kayaking daytrip. Instructors well-versed in paddle technique and boat etiquette will lead you through a day of exploration and non-stop fun. This trip lead by women, for women, will explore the beautiful Scappoose Bay, just a short drive from Pacific University. In a day dedicated to getting women outside, participants are sure to gain new paddling skills and leave feeling empowered.

Swing by the Outdoor Pursuits Office any weekday to rent gear for your own individualized outdoor experience. Instructors will help you select and rent the best gear for your day or overnight excursion.
