Natalie Cruz '21: Outstanding Senior in Art History

Natalie Cruz ’21 was named Outstanding Senior in Art History by Pacific University. She was awarded her bachelor’s degree in art history in May 2021. She is from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Art history majors are taught to critically examine works of art in their historical and theoretical contexts. Cruz’s senior capstone project focused on a newly resonant historical tragedy: It was called Memory in Diaspora: The Armenian Genocide and Cultural Resilience in Art.

She was a two-time recipient of the Kathrin Cawein Endowed Scholarship.
